BINTULU: The Speaker of the State Legislative Assembly (DUN), Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar, presented a donation to the mosque and surau management committee as well as the Permanent Committee on Islamic Activities for the Bintulu Division (JTAIB), involving a total allocation of RM155,000.

A total of RM100,000 was distributed to ten mosques, with each religious institution receiving a contribution of RM10,000, while nine surau received RM5,000 each, involving an allocation of RM45,000.

JTAIB, on the other hand, received funds of RM10,000 to conduct its activities and programmes.

This contribution aims to ease the burden on the management of these places of worship in carrying out various spiritual activities.

In his speech, Asfia urged the community, especially in the Jepak state constituency, to support local authorities and the Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) to ensure the smooth implementation of the Jepak Jaya development plan as a new settlement for the people of Bintulu.
