Motorcyclist dies in coastal road crash

MIRI: A 27 year-old man on his way to Bakun from Miri died after his high-powered motorcycle involved in an accident at KM41 Miri coastal road yesterday morning.

The man was on his way to Bakun from Miri on his Yamaha R5 motorcycle in a convoy with two other friends during the 11am crash.

It was alleged that the motorcycle ridden by the victim had lost controlled and veered off into the opposite lane after hitting a rear side of a car and rammed an oncoming 4WD, sending him flying through the air and landed heavily on the road.

He was pronounced dead by medical personnel who rushed to the scene after receiving report on the incident.

Due to the collision, the deceased’s right leg and several of his right fingers were severed while his right arm was broken.

The body was brought to Miri Hospital for further action.

The 4WD’s front part is damaged following to the incident.
