KUCHING: GPS must be seen to put its heart and soul into fighting for Sarawak’s rights if it hopes to win the respect and support of the people.

Petra Jaya MP Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said he believed that given the high spirit of the members, GPS should be in the right frame of mine to fulfil its principal objective, which is to safeguard Sarawak’s rights.

“This is our commitment together, therefore in one spirit we shall raise GPS’ name and continue to fight for our rights,” he said during the GPS Flag Rally at Phase 1 and Phase 2, RPR Batu Kawa Multipurpose Hall last night.

He said GPS did right in travelling the length and breadth of the state as in that it not only introduce its hornbill logo but was able to talk about its prime mission of regaining Sarawak’s eroded rights.

“I want to thank the GPS youth and women wings for sacrificing your time and energy to meet the people. You all play a role here in bringing not only Sarawak’s name to be globally known but including that of GPS,” he pointed out.

He said GPS’ journey will not just stop with the rally and its official launch today.

“We will go into the rural areas to ensure the people are with us and us with them because this fight for the return of the state’s rights is our common struggle,” he added.
