SIMUNJAN: The government through the related agencies will address the flood issues faced by Kampung Sungai Raya folk, especially during the rainy season, says Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri.
The Batang Sadong MP added that her representative would meet the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) to get advice on the matter.
“It is believed that this problem is due to the drainage in the area,” she said when attending the Pengerami Ngiling Bidai programme at Kampung Sungai Raya yesterday.
At the same time, she also urged grassroots leaders to voice out any issues raised by the people in their jurisdiction.
“We, the government as well as the Premier, are very concerned about the issues faced by the rakyat.
“That is why villagers should cooperate with their local leaders such as Tuai Rumah so that all problems are addressed to the people’s representatives in the area.”
