MIRI: The Welfare, Health and Community Sub-Committee of Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) Miri Branch paid a visit to two families with poor socio-economic backgrounds at Tudan Desaras.

The Chairman of the Sub-Committee, Dr Uma delivered a short talk which covered dangers of plastics, importance of cleanliness and healthy food as a way to educate the family members.

This visit was then continued with a briefing by Roslan Ali from Miri City Council (MCC) to the two families on the services provided by the City Council and the approach for highlighting the related issues to the council.

During the visit, the team also brought along stainless steel food containers to be distributed to the members of the two families as part of the exercise to stress on the dangers of plastic containers.

These stainless steel food containers were donated by a group of donors who wish to remain anonymous and MRC Miri Branch would like to take this opportunity to express their appreciation to this group of donors.
