MRC Miri members visit two poor families

MIRI: The Welfare, Health and Community Sub-Committee of Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) Miri branch recently visited two poor families at Lambir.

During the visit, chairperson of the Sub-Committee, Dr Uma Devi gave a short talk on the dangers of plastics and the importance of cleanliness and healthy food to the family members.

This visit then continued with a briefing by Dayang Mariammah from Miri City Council (MCC) for Tuai Rumah Linggi Belaja and his people at Lambir on the services provided by the council and the approach for highlighting related issues to it.

During the visit, the team also brought along stainless steel food containers to be distributed to the residents as part of the exercise
to stress on the dangers of plastic containers.

These stainless steel food containers were donated by a group of donors who wished to remain anonymous. The team also helped to pick up plastic waste in the compound with the family members.
