MUKAH: The organisation of the Mukah Food Festival helps provide crucial support to local traders and small entrepreneurs, aiding their recovery in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Tellian assemblyman Royston Valentine stressed the positive impact of the MFF, which is being held from Oct 27 to Nov 12, on small businesses.

“The event’s duration of over two weeks has been highly profitable for participating traders and entrepreneurs, significantly boosting their earnings compared to normal days.

“Even in the face of economic instability, people’s purchasing power remains robust, fostering continued economic activity in the region.”

He was speaking to the media during the handover of school uniform vouchers to needy students at the Mukah District Office here yesterday.

Royston also discussed the proposed salary increase for civil servants, acknowledging its importance in driving the country’s progress and highlighting the necessity of such measures during these challenging economic times.
