KUALA LUMPUR: It was night to remember as Naim Group of Companies was adjudged the ‘Gold’ award winner of the 13th Malaysia Occupational Safety and Health Practitioner’s Association (MOSHPA) Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Excellence Award 2017.
Naim’s award was for the category of the Heavy Civil Engineering Works in relation to its flagship development, the Naim Sapphire On The Park condominium located at Batu Lintang Road, Kuching.
Naim’s Chief Operating Officer for Construction and Oil and Gas, Sivakumar Ramasamy said the award was a testament of the Group’s commitment and continuous efforts in OSH management.
“At Naim, we focus on quality, not only in terms of final products, but also in terms of implementation and execution. OSH management is a crucial part of project implementation and good OSH management will lead to improved performance, profitability and sustainability of our business.
“Our QHSE Management is a coherent system of ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System, OHSAS 18001:2007 Occupational Health & Safety Management System and 14001:2004 Environmental Management System and is recognised by the Intertek International (previously known as Moody International).
“In addition to systems, we also embark on continuous campaigns and learning interventions to inculcate the good OSH mindset among our workforce. We believe that good OSH management is everyone’s responsibility, and must be a way of life.
“We look forward to working with MOSHPA and other related agencies to up the OSH management standards in time to come,” Sivakumar said.
Organised by MOSHPA, the awards seek to honour industry players demonstrating an outstanding achievement in implementing safety and health at workplaces. The award audit criteria focus on aspects such as the OSH system, its implementation and actual physical assessment on site.
