KUCHING: Sarawak will soon have a representative in the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) Board of Directors.

Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Law, MA63 and State-Federal Relations) Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali said the name of the representative had been submitted by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg to the federal government.

“There is only one IRB representative from Sarawak and the name has been submitted by our Premier, so for now, just wait,” she said.

She said this to the media when she was attending the sacrificial meat (daging korban) distribution programme for the Samriang constituency in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidiladha at the Samariang Service Centre on Monday (July 11).

Abang Johari had previously explained that Sarawak would be able to know the revenue the country generates and the amount the federal government can give if it has a representative in the IRB.
