KUCHING: A total of 50 needy individuals and 100 MyCar drivers received assistance from the Ragad Foundation during its Ramadan charity programme yesterday.

Foundation chairperson Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Ragad Kurdi Taib handed over donations in the form of food baskets and ‘duit raya’ to the recipients at Majma Tuanku Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah building here.

According to the foundation’s chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Riffairudin Mohd Hussein, the contribution was aimed at easing the burden and to enable them to celebrate the Ramadan.

He added that such programmes were being organised continuously, including the Bersama Masyarakat programme where ‘bubur lambuk’ are distributed to the village folk.

“Today, we will hold a ‘bubur lambuk’ cooking programme with the village folk together with our chairman (Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Raghad).

“One unique thing about the ‘bubur lambuk’ that we will cook is that we are using the famous recipe from Kampung Baru, Kuala Lumpur,” he told the media here yesterday.
