MUKAH: Learner drivers here and nearby areas will soon enjoy the comfort of learning to drive in a more conducive environment once a new driving school, Akademi Memandu Setia Sdn Bhd, at KM10 Jalan Mukah-Oya is operational.
Completed last year, it is well equipped with the necessary facilities.
The building also houses the office and other facilities of the co-owners of the academy.
One of the co-owners, identified only as Jong, said the academy was expected to be operational next June.
He added he and the other driving school operators here had been advised to move out from the existing place at Jalan Boyan to the new academy by next May.
“However, we have yet to get the occupation permit (OP) from the relevant authorities,” he told New Sarawak Tribune today.
Jong revealed that the academy was built at a cost of almost RM4 million and that the investors included non-locals.
Currently, there are three driving school operators here who share a small space near the roadside at Jalan Boyan, about 500 metres from the old town.
