MIRI: Six new signboards have been installed at road junctions in the Long Lama area of the Telang Usan constituency.

Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau officially launched all six signboards yesterday (Sept 16).

The signboards are located at Simpang Masjid, Simpang Temala, Simpang Kejin, Jalan Interhill, Jalan Samling, and Simpang short cut.

This initiative by the Forest Department Sarawak, Miri, aims to enhance road accessibility from the main junctions.

During the launching, Dennis commended the forest department for their effort.

“I learned that this project was proposed by the Miri forest officer, Asan Odau. It’s a community initiative by the Miri Forest Department Social and Recreational Club (Foressa),” he said.

At the same time, Dennis and Telang Usan District officer Ezra Uda planted 50 different tree species around Long Lama and Masjid Darul Salam, coinciding with the Malaysia Day celebrations.
