1,400 benefit from YaPEIM donations

KUCHING: A total of 1,400 people received donations from the the Yayasan Pembangunan Ekonomi Islam Malaysia (YaPEIM).

 They comprised 1,000 students (orphans and poor) and 400 educators and residents. They received it during the YaPEIM Ramadan Inspiration programme held at Masjid Al-Abyad, yesterday.

 Gracing the event was the Assistant Minister of Rural Electricity Dr. Abdul Rahman Junaidi who represented the Chief Minister, Datuk Amar Johari Tun Abang Haji Openg.

 The total contributions made were RM120,000 which also involved a total of 31 District Education Office (PPD) in the state.

 All recipients were identified through respective schools and also information disseminated from PPD. Each recipient received RM100 and food items worth RM20.

 In his speech, Rahman advised recipients to make use of the assistance to alleviate the burden of their parents. 

“Similar to last year, this programme was held at Masjid Darul Hana to fete our students during Ramadan,” said Rahman.
