LIMBANG: Member of Parliament for Limbang, Haji Hasbi Habibollah went to the ground to see the flood which hit several areas in this district yesterday.

He and several officials from government department and agencies also met the flood victims and advised them to continue to be aware of the flood situation from time to time.

He also urged the flood victims to follow all instructions issued by the rescue teams especially when they are asked to evacuate or move to safe places.

Meanwhile, some residents of Kampung Berawan here described the flash flood that hit their village yesterday as the worst since 49 years ago.

The flood also caused the road to be accessible only by heavy vehicles. In addition, other areas and main roads here are also flooded and disconnected.

According to State Disaster Management Committee, among the affected roads are the road to Simpang Kubong, Medamit and the main road in Kampung Berawan which is impassable to small and low vehicles.

Also affected are Kampung Medait, Rumah Ejau, Munti Ulu Lubai River, Rumah Ugak Lubok Simpor and low-lying villages. The main road to Taman Damai housing estate is also flooded. The traffic situation in the flooded areas is under control with police monitoring it.

Also present were Limbang Deputy District Officer, Hamidah Halpi. Meanwhile, the water level in Trusan River in Lawas has reached a dangerous level and some villages in Tusan area are also flooded. The entrance to Kampung Siang-Siang and a few areas in Ulu Merapok and Kampung Perikan are also flooded.
