Datuk Abdul Karim Hamzah, Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports

• Medical Tourism Coordination Committee to facilitate the entry of medical visitors next year.

• State saw 33,400 medical visitor arrivals, generating RM42.4 million from January to September this year. In 2017, there were 44,700 foreign patients who sought medical treatment and brought in of RM60.7 million.

• Sarawak recorded tourist arrivals of 3,230,201 from January to September this year, a decrease of 13.27% against the corresponding period in 2017.

• State targets 100% water and electricity coverage in rural areas by 2025.

• Sarawak Rural Electrification Masterplan will need RM3.22 billion for full electrification by 2025.

• Sarawak to create history with the launching of the Service Sarawak Centre as part of the State Civil Service Transformation Plan.

• The RM31-million Darul Hana Musical Fountain is very complex and needs special expertise with the scope of the project including supervision costs over two years’ and five years’ design guarantee. It is shocking that there are claims the project could be completed at a cost of only RM5 million.

• Claims that there are efforts to cover the case are merely accusations meant to throw a bad light on the good image of the state government.

 

Datuk Prof. Dr Sim Kui Hian, Minister of Local Government and Housing

• Sarawak MPs must think of being ‘Sarawak First’ whether they are inside or outside Parliament. They are of the people of Sarawak, by the people of Sarawak, and for the people of Sarawak.

• A total of 150,149 old and newly diagnosed diabetes mellitus cases were registered from January to September this year.

• The total number of diagnosed hypertension cases continue to increase from 137,713 cases registered in 2017 to 357,268cases this year.

Datuk Fatimah Abdullah, Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development

• Teenage pregnancies have shown a downtrend. As of last Sept, the number of cases was 1,539 compared to 1,645 in 2017 and 1,873 for the same period in 2016.

• Sexual crimes against women and children have recorded an increase of 199 cases from last January to September compared to 176 cases in 2017 and 129 cases in 2016 over the same period.
