The deadline to submit applications for refund of excess land premium for all resettlement scheme (SPS) and village extension scheme (SPK) is Oct 31 next year.
“Applications must be submitted by Oct 31 next year and not end of last month as published by some media,” Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hassan said in his winding-up speech yesterday.
He said 7,174 landowners would receive RM43mil in refund payment, thus would have financial impact on the state government.
According to him, from mid-September until last month 3,273 premium repayment applications were received throughout Sarawak.
“Out of the total, 883 applications have gone through validation (and are) eligible for refund involving a sum of RM6.13mil. The refund process is underway,” he said.
He further said the state government had set the premium for residential lots across all SPS and SPK to not exceed RM2,500 per lot except for Demak Relocation Scheme Phase 3, 4 and 6.
