JWKS signs MoA with three vendors of WWTC

KUCHING: A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed yesterday between the Sarawak Women and Family Department (JWKS) and the three new vendors of Wisma Wanita Training Centre (WWTC) for 2018. The three new vendors include SG Akademi Sarawak, Pusat Latihan Kemahiran Zurainas, and Teratak Kayangan.

Under the MoA, SG Akademi Sarawak would provide training courses for cooking, Pusat Latihan Kemahiran Zurainas would provide training courses for beauticians and Teratak Kayangan would be providing training courses on spa & massage at the WWTC for a period of two years.

The Memorandum of Agreement was signed between the Director of JWKS, Noriah Ahmad, Managing Director of Sarawak SG Akademy, Novert Sullang, Managing Director of Pusat Latihan Kemahiran Zurainas, Dayang Zarina Kiprawi and Managing Director of Teratak Kayangan, Roziyani Mahdi. Present at the signing of the MoA was the Minister of Welfare, Community Well-Being,
Women, Family and Childhood Development, Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah.

She said that since the establishment of WWTC on October 9, 2014 until November 28, 2017, a total of 12,296 people had participated and benefited from the training courses. Fatimah hoped that the women would be equipped with skills that were on par with SKM as the vendors signed had relevant certification and the training courses to be offered were of quality.

The Minister of Welfare, Community Well-Being, Women, Family and Childhood Development revealed that JWKS through WWTC would continue the programmes by making improvements from the aspects of making evaluations before and after courses, selection of the types of training modules, targeting at least 20% of the participants to start businesses and online registration of courses.

Also present at the signing ceremony were the Assistant Minister of Women, Family and Childhood Development, Rosey Yunus and Assistant Minister of Community Well-Being, Datuk Francis Harden Hollis.
