KAPIT: Several members of Kapit communty received various state awards and medals from the Head of State during the investiture held at the Astana in Kuching, recently.
Pemanca David Dian Langkau and Penghulu Bunsu Gerinang, who led the list of award recipients from Kapit, received the Pegawai Bintang Kenyalang (PBK) award. Both are the Iban community leaders.
The others were recipients of Ahli Bintang Kenyalang (ABK). They are James Sandak, James Ling, Cr Mohamad Ilahi Junaidi, Tuai Rumah Ellision Duren, Alexson Nila Ambrose Abong, Inguh Miut, Judson Jarrau, Bawang Sugung and Tuai Rumah Stewart Saba.
The Bintang Bentara Sarawak (BBS) recipients from Kapit are Tuai Rumah Achan Inang, Ayong Andam, Tuai Rumah Ingut Dampa and Ling Liang Hung.
The investiture saw 10 people received the PBK, 20 Pingat Perkhidmatan Bakti (PPB), nine Ahli Bintang Sarawak (ABS), 36 ABK, 23 Pingat PerkhidmatTerpuji (PPT) and 53 BBS.
