KUCHING: A number of potholes and poor road conditions at Lorong 3, Stakan has caused traffic jams and car owners worrying about their vehicle’s tyres.

Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Public Complaints Bureau chief, Wilfred Yap, said during his last visit to Kota Sentosa, the residents and business community had complained to him of the poor condition at the area.

He said there were certain parts where water was clogged causing difficulty for pedestrian users. Yap said after the complaints were made to him, he went to inspect and assess the situation to see what can be done to resolve the problems.

“The matter was brought to the attention of Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) and their contractors have commenced repair and maintenance works.

“We will continue to follow-up and monitor the situation closely until the tar sealing repairs of pot holes and maintenance works have been completed to the satisfaction of all parties,” he said.

Yap hoped that the current Stampin MP and Kota Sentosa assemblyman Chong Chieng Jen will assist the residents and business community of Kota Sentosa by applying and securing development funds from the federal government to upgrade and widen the road to improve traffic flow caused by the increasing usage of this road as a bypass.
