Talib first to be sworn in

KUCHING: Minister in the Chief Minister’s Office, Datuk Talib Zulpilip yesterday led the line-up of Ministers and Assistant Ministers who received letters of appointment and were sworn in before the Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud here.

The ceremony, held at the Astana, was attended by Taib’s wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Hajah Ragad Kurdi Taib, Chief Minister, Datuk Amar Abang Haji Johari Tun Openg and Deputy Chief Ministers, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, Tan Sri James Jemut Masing and Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan.

Next to be sworn in after Talip were Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, who was appointed Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports, and Balai Ringin State Assemblyman, Snowdan Lawan, who was appointed Assistant Minister for Youth and Sports.

The ceremony continued with Assistant Minister for Corporate Affairs, Abdullah Saidol taking his oath.

The new Ministers and Assistant Ministers were appointed following the reshuffling of the state cabintet by the Chief Minister on 6 May, 2017.
