KUCHING: Nextgreen Global Berhad (NGGB) has launched sustainable green products made from oil palm empty fruit bunches (EFB) at the International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition & Conference Malaysia 2023 (IGEM).

NGGB, a pulp and paper manufacturer, showcased its new environmentally friendly tissue paper and pulp moulded (food grade) products derived from EFB today.

These products are produced using the breakthrough Preconditioning Refiner Chemical-Recycle Bleached Mechanised Pulp (PRC-RMBP) technology.

“The effective utilisation of EFB for tissue paper and pulp moulded products aligns with NGGB’s vision to substantially contribute to a greener global economy. Notably, our EFB virgin pulp and paper have been certified by the Standard and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia (SIRIM) Eco-Labelling Scheme and the MyHijau certification from the Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC). We remain dedicated to transforming oil palm biomass into a variety of downstream products, echoing the aspirations of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Plantation and Commodities, Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof,” said its managing director Datuk Lim Thiam Huat in a statement.
