KUCHING: Hope Place recently extended its support to the Abdul Hamid family in Asajaya.

The family sought assistance for their 9-month-old daughter, Nur Aafiah Abdul Hamid, who has been suffering from a kidney blockage that leads to abnormal bloating and vomiting, symptoms that worsen with the intake of excess liquids.

“The planned surgery in January was postponed as Aafiah was underweight,” said Hope Place in a statement today (Feb 26).

Abdul Hamid, the family’s breadwinner, is a 46-year-old fisherman who earns less than RM800 a month, barely enough to support his wife and three children, including Aafiah and her two older siblings.

“Aafiah is currently receiving a monthly social welfare aid of RM 200, and the family has also benefitted from a one-time assistance from Baitumal,” it added.

To further support the family, Hope Place is supplying baby formulas and diapers for Aafiah. Individuals willing to contribute to the family’s wellbeing can contact Hope Place at 082-505987, or directly donate to their Maybank account: 511289001160.
