SIBU: A male nurse at Sibu Hospital has been arrested for allegedly outraging the modesty of a female nurse.
Sibu OCPD Assistant Commissioner Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said that the 31-year-old suspect went to the complainant’s home at about 10am on August 17 to close a car deal as she would be following her husband to Kuala Lumpur.
It was alleged that when the complainant went in to get the vehicle green card, the suspect followed her from behind.
The suspect, who is married with a young child, then started to outrage her modesty in the bedroom. He had also tried to remove her clothes but failed as she put up a strong struggle.
ACP Stanley said the complainant who has a child, had initially hesitated to lodge a police report as she was worried it might affect her job.
“She had only done so on Aug 20, when the suspect was still calling her up after the incident,” he added.
The case is being investigated under Section 354 of the Penal Code.
