KUCHING: In conjunction with the upcoming Christmas celebration, Kuching Police Headquarters (IPD) has conducted a seven-day Ops Selamat, which ends Dec 28.

Kuching deputy police chief Supt Merbin Lisa said the main objective of this operation is to ensure smooth traffic flow and to prevent road accidents as well as any criminal cases, especially burglary cases.

The police also advised those who are leaving home to celebrate Christmas in their respective hometown or on holiday to fill in the ‘Balik Kampung forms’ to facilitate police monitoring when they are away for Christmas celebration.

“The forms can be obtained at the nearest police station or via VSP application and IPD Kuching’s facebook page,” he said in a statement.

Those driving back home to their respective kampungs are being advised to plan ahead.

For any information on crimes, please contact Kuching IPD control centre at 082-244444 or the nearest police station.
