KUALA LUMPUR: The concept of ‘open door policy’ and ‘ease of doing business’ should be applied in efforts to rebuild the nation’s economy, said Public Works Minister (KKR) Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi.

Nanta said the concept should be applied with full integrity and trust.

“In conjunction with the International Anti-Corruption Day 2022 which was celebrated on Dec 9, 2022, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the reform agenda especially efforts to prevent corruption is not only limited to enforcement.

“On the other hand, values such as integrity, having high morals, accomplishing tasks ethically are aspects that need to be applied in our daily lives.

“Since the first day I set foot in this ministry, I have emphasised the concept of ‘open door policy’ and ‘ease of doing business’ to the people of KKR in the ministry’s efforts to help contribute to the rebuilding of the country.

“However, this concept must be applied with full integrity and trust, in line with the government’s desire to fight corruption,” he was quoted as saying in a report by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS).

Meanwhile, he also touched on several matters such as committing to the agenda of repairing assets and infrastructure affected by natural disasters, the implementation of the Sabah and Sarawak Pan Borneo Highway project and the Sarawak-Sabah Link Road as well as focusing on KKR’s Digitalisation Strategic Plan.

Nanta added that all civil servants under his ministry could work together, give solid commitment throughout the year and continue to deliver high-impact services with excellence and integrity at all times.
