KUCHING: More than RM20mil in allocations have been approved by the Samarahan Regional Integrated Development Agency (IRSDA) to upgrade village lanes around Kota Samarahan.

According to Kota Samarahan MP Rubiah Wang, the project was one of the initiatives presented to the Premier and chairman of IRSDA.

“Today, I have asked my officers to inspect and monitor the project to upgrade the village lane in Kampung Serpan Laut, Asajaya.

“This project is funded under the IRSDA allocation with approval for this time of more than RM20mil and implemented in most villages in Kota Samarahan,” she said on Facebook on Tuesday (Dec 6).

“It includes Kampung Meranek, Kampung Mang, Kampung Baru in Samarahan District and Kampung Tambirat, Kampung Sebandi and several other villages around Kota Samarahan.

“I know that this allocation is still not enough for all the lanes in the villages in Kota Samarahan.

“However, we will work so that additional projects in the future can be implemented to ensure that the alleys in the village area can be upgraded and properly paved in stages.”
