PBB Women to empower young members with leadership skills

KUCHING: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Women Wing is committed to empowering its youth members through leadership skills programmes and trainings.

PBB Women chief Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah said empowering the young generation in the political arena would enable them to improve their knowledge in practical skills that cultivates political awareness.

“Empowering youth leadership skills in politics will enhance and widen their perspectives.

“Most importantly, it could navigate our young members to engage with the grassroots regardless of their age and ethnicity,” she said after chairing the wing’s supreme council meeting here yesterday.

“The first-hand experience is important in order to help expose themselves to the grassroots,” she said, adding that the leadership empowerment programme would only be participated by 20 young leaders selected from across the state.

To realise its youths’ potential as agents of change, Fatimah, who also Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Family and Childhood Development Minister, further highlighted that the party would continuously allocate intensive leadership training for its young members so that they would be able to solve community issues.

“They are our future leaders. We hope that through such measures, it will expose them to the real political world at a young age,” she said.

Beginning in July, the pilot programme is the first PBB Women engagement project with its young members.
