SIBU: Councillor Paul Teo has been elected as the Chairman of the newly established Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) Sibu Jaya Branch.

Teo’s deputy is Udin Nasat, and the secretary position has been filled by Jaffery Gambang Bernabas Baie, with Angel Richard serving as the assistant secretary.

Meanwhile, Ling How Chung has been elected as the treasurer, with Shiaw Chwen Chau as his assistant.

According to PDP Dudong chairman Datuk Teo Boon Siew, the formation of the branch was to enable the party to better serve the people.

“Because there is no need to register its establishment with the Registration Office (ROS), this branch is valid under the Dudong Division PDP,” he said when chairing the meeting to form the Sibu Jaya branch yesterday (March 16).

Others elected include Kung Teck Sean as organising secretary, Teo Siew Wen as information chief, and Law Pick Yung as women’s wing chief.

The elected committee members are Sia Pick Lee, Jeffrey Siaw Teck Lee, Kung Teck Hui, Kenny Chew Yi Siong, and Kong Chee Siang.
