JOHOR BAHRU: As far as the Perak football team are concerned, today’s 2019 season-opener Sultan Ahmad Shah Cup (Charity Shield) match against Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) at the Larkin Stadium (9 pm) is ‘Mission: Possible’.

Malaysia Cup champions Perak, also known as The Bos Gaurus, realise it’s going to be an uphill task, but they are ready to defy the odds.

Perak head coach Mehmet Durakovic said his men are in ‘battle-mode’ and ready to go blow-for-blow with last year’s Super League winners.

Despite all their bravado, Durakovic was quick to point out that they would not under-estimate the Southern Tigers, not when they will be playing at their own den. “I can only promise that my captain and players will do their best as we are prepared, ready and looking forward to a very good game against JDT,” he told reporters during a pre-match press conference here yesterday.- Bernama
