KUCHING: Perbena Emas Sdn Bhd (Perbena), an incoming subsidiary of Pansar Berhad (Pansar), has been awarded the contract for the design and construction of a new Teaching Hospital and Primary Healthcare Centre for Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) in Kota Samarahan, valued at RM485.99mil.

This brings Perbena’s total outstanding order book, which stood at RM1.46bil as of February this year, to approximately RM2bil.

In a ceremony in Kuala Lumpur on March 10, the award of four contracts totalling RM600mil was announced, comprising building and infrastructure works and facilities for several educational institutions.

The ceremony was presided by Works Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, where he presented Letters of Award for the four contracts, including to Perbena, represented by managing director James Ling.

Perbena has an established 43-year track record in the construction and civil engineering industry. Since its establishment, it has undertaken projects in excess of RM5bil.

Their past experience included multiple projects in universities, hospitals, shopping centres, semi-conductor factories, oil and gas facilities, waste treatment plants, highway and road infrastructure works, religious institutions and institutional facilities.
