Pipeline blast kills one, injures two

LAWAS: At least one person was killed and two injured when a pipeline of Sabah-Sarawak Gas Pipeline (SSPG) in Long Ugui exploded today.

The two injured suffered burns on their bodies.

According to Sarawak Fire and Rescued Department (Bomba) operation centre, they were notified on the incident at 2 .49pm yesterday.

A team of firemen from Lawas fire station was mobilised to the scene. The explosion site occurred within an estimate radius of 400 metres.

Also damaged in the incident was an excavator and a bulldozer.
