Poco-poco marathon enters Malaysia Book of Records

KOTA SAMARAHAN: A total of 3,688 participants who joined the poco-poco Samarahan Marathon have been included in The Malaysia Book of Records.

The Poco-Poco Marathon activity was attended by participants from in and around Kuching and Asajaya at the Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS) compound, today.

The activity was also joined by the Minister of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah.

“With 3,688 people in total, this is the largest poco-poco dance event in Malaysia.

“This set a new record for the most participants to take part in a poco-poco dance, and it was recorded in the Malaysia Book of Records,” said Abdul Karim when met after the event.

A sponsorship donation of RM30,000 was given to the event by 38 Yayasan Amal Cinta and Kuching Love Book.

Poco-Poco Marathon was held in conjunction with Mini Village Entrepreneurs Carnival 2024 organised by the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW).

Also present was Deputy Minister of KKDW and Kota Samarahan MP Datuk Rubiah Wang.
