BAU: A man was arrested on suspicion of carrying out gambling activities at an unnumbered house in Kampung Stenggang, yesterday.
Bau District police chief DSP Poge Nyaon said the suspect, aged 45, was arrested in a raid carried out by a team from the Criminal Investigation Department of the Bau district police headquarters (IPD) at about 4pm.
“The operations team seized a unit of mobile phone along with a sim card and a sum of cash from the suspect,” he said today.
Poge said the suspect has no past criminal record, adding that the case is being investigated under Section 4A (a) of the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953.
