Police seek driver’s help in probe

BINTULU : The police are looking for the driver of a white Toyota Vios car who assaulted a motorcyclist at Jalan Kemena here recently.

Bintulu district police chief Supt Batholomew Umpit said the police were still trying to find the driver of the car to help in the investigation.

He said the case was being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt.

“If convicted of an offence under Section 323 of the Penal Code, a person faces a prison sentence of up to one year or a fine of up to RM2,000 or both,” he said in a statement recently.

The Bintulu police chief said on Dec 3, at approximately 12 pm, a video lasting 14 seconds was   uploaded on the Facebook page of Info Roadblock All Malaysia as in the link https://fb.watch/ohjtxgkyru/?mibextid=qc1qea.

He said that the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) Bintulu had confirmed receiving a police report from a local man involved in the case.
