KUCHING: The Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department will be conducting a Foreigner Outstanding Summonses Operation (FOSO) starting 26 to 28 October 2018, said Chief of Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department Superintendent Alexson Naga Chabu.

The three-day operation will be conducted at the Malaysia-Brunei border on both directions of the Sungai Tujuh Toll Plaza.

The operation is conducted due to the number of outstanding summonses amounting to about 60,000 which involve Brunei-registered vehicles for the past 10 years since 2008.

The operation aims to ensure that foreign traffic offenders pay their summons prior to leaving the country as well as to instil awareness among foreigners to comply with the rules and regulations in Malaysia and prevent accidents which involve foreigners.

Foreigners especially Bruneians are advised to check the records of their outstanding summonses at the nearest Traffic Police Station in all districts of Sarawak.
