KUCHING: Assistant Minister of Youth and Sports Datuk Snowdan Lawan hoped to see continuous political stability under the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government.

This will ensure that the priorities in developing the state can be pursued when the 12th Malaysia Plan (12 MP) begins, he pointed out.

“As the elected representative for Balai Ringin, I will continue to tirelessly bring in the much needed infrastructure development in every possible way I could,” he said in his New Year message today.

He said he was also hoping to see those in his constituency and every Sarawakian would continue to benefit from the state initiatives.

“To my constituents who are largely farmers, I also urge them to embrace new technology in farming and make agriculture as a business venture.

“The state food security plan which includes export ventures overseas shall provide sufficient market and efficient supply chain management as support mechanism,” he said.

On youth development, Snowdan said the youths who make up a large portion of the state’s population should equip themselves well with technical and vocational education and training (TVET) advancement because the challenges ahead will be closer to their hands from now.

“Engage yourselves in healthy lifestyles, productive endeavours and sports activities for self-actualisation and glory for the state.

“Now that those who attain 18 years and above are eligible to vote in the future, so my hope is that they will become more responsible voters who will determine a good and strong government and economy,” he pointed out.

As the country is battling with the Covid-19 pandemic, he urged everyone to stay focused and remain patient.

“As 2020 descends, my family and I would like to wish all our friends, relatives, associates and my supporters a happy and prosperous New Year 2021,” said Snowdan.
