LIMBANG: Sarawak is progressive in its development approach including in the way it handles foreign investments.

Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg said some foreign companies were attracted to the state’s oil and gas.

“A company is investing in an oil refinery in Lawas,” he said during a Chinese New Year open house at Temenggong Ang Keng Su’s residence here yesterday.

He said the investment would not only impact Lawas, but also the entire northern part of the state.

He added that the attitude of Sarawakians is also a factor for foreigners choosing to invest in the state.

“Why do outsiders have confidence in us? They invest because we have political stability. But we have to work hard,” he said.
