Premier attends dialogue with bank officials

KUCHING: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg attended a dialogue session with a delegation from Maybank Investment Bank and fund managers here yesterday.

According to the Sarawak government Facebook page, Sarawakku, Abang Johari fielded various questions on the economy at the half-hour session moderated by Anand Pathmakanthan, regional head of Research at Maybank Investment Banking Group.

The questions among others touched on education and talent development, Post COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030, the banking sector in Sarawak and its function to develop small and medium enterprises (SMEs), the Sarawak Sovereign Wealth Future Fund and strategies and investment prospects in the renewable energy sector in particular.

Also present at the dialogue were State Financial Secretary Datuk Seri Dr Wan Lizozman Wan Omar, Economic Planning Unit (EPU) director Datuk Lester Mathew, Maybank Investment Bank chief operating officer Tengku Ariff Azhar Tengku Mohamed and regional director for Sarawak Abang Jamili Abang Julai.
