KUALA LUMPUR: The 10th Annual PropertyGuru Asia Awards Malaysia is inviting the country’s finest property developers to vie for and clinch the sought-after hallmarks of excellence in the real estate sector.

Organised by PropertyGuru and iProperty, the awards are now accepting submissions until June 30, 2023, via its website asiapropertyawards.com/nominations.

“Now in its 10th year, the search for Malaysia’s finest real estate begins anew at an auspicious time as Malaysia’s economy shows impressive growth,’’ PropertyGuru Group said in a statement today.

Based on its Property Market Report for the first quarter of 2023, the company said that the demand for houses is likely to be tempered in the first half of 2023 due to rising interest rates.

“(Despite that), the second half of the year is shaping up to be more promising as the Chinese economy opens.

“The relaxation of Covid-19 measures in China is set to boost the economy in the second half of the year through an increase in tourist arrivals and reduced supply chain disruptions,” it said.

The company said that the awards celebration is scheduled to take place at The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur on Nov 24, 2023.

The main winners would qualify to compete for regional accolades at the 18th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards Grand Final in Bangkok, Thailand on Dec 8, 2023.

PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards and Events general manager Jules Kay said the awards would serve as a quality benchmark for buyers looking to invest in Malaysia’s finest real estate.

“Built on two strong brands and guided by Malaysia’s most trusted property advisors, our awards programme leverages our combined expertise and network to further raise the benchmark of property development and design in the country,’’ he said.

PropertyGuru has also called for the public to submit nominations for the People’s Choice Awards which allow consumers and residents in Malaysia to vote for their preferred and most trusted developers. This is to honour 10 companies that deliver the best in trust, quality, and value for money, the statement said.

A panel of judges, comprising 18 respected leaders and experts in real estate consultancy, architecture, interior design, finance, legal, and related fields, would discuss and deliberate over entries during the live judging session in late July 2023.

The panel’s chairperson Datuk Ezumi Harzani Ismail said the awards would raise the bar for design and development in the country.

PropertyGuru said that the accounting firm HLB, the official awards supervisor, would oversee the judging and ensure that the process is fair, transparent and credible. – BERNAMA
