KUCHING: The Kuching District Police Headquarters is urging the community to take advantage of the recently launched online police reporting service, known as the E-Reporting System, provided by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).

According to a press statement issued by Kuching district police chief ACP Ashmon Bajah, this initiative aimed to enable individuals to lodge non-criminal police reports conveniently, without the need to visit a physical police station.

“The E-Reporting System is part of the Royal Malaysia Police’s commitment to providing efficient and accessible services to the public.

“By utilising this online platform, citizens can report incidents that are unrelated to criminal offences or do not require further police investigation. This streamlined process aims to save time for both the complainants and the police personnel.

“To access the E-Reporting System, Malaysian citizens, aged 18 and above, must register within the system. The online platform is available daily, allowing individuals to make reports at their convenience,” he said.

The Kuching District Police Headquarters has outlined the types of reports that can be made through the E-Reporting System which included the loss or misplacement of important documents such as identity cards, driving licences, or ATM cards.

Additionally, individuals can report the loss of mobile phones, laptops, road tax, or equipment and documents damaged due to natural disasters. For cases of runaway domestic helpers, the E-Reporting System facilitates the application for cancellation of a domestic helper’s permit.
