KUCHING: Two crocodiles have escaped their enclosure at Matang Wildlife Centre after the fences were damaged following a heavy downpour on Saturday (Mar 11).

The Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) issued this alert through their Facebook page this morning.

It said that the reptiles are respectively about 10-foot and 16-foot long.

“Villagers especially at Kampung Rayu and those who are living near the Matang Wildlife Centre are advised to extra precaution.

“The public are advised not to panic as we are working together with the local authorities to monitor and track down the crocodiles,” the corporation said.

Those who have information or have sighted the crocodiles, are strongly advised to call the corporation’s hotline at 019-8859996 (Kuching).

It is said that the crocodiles’ enclosure was damaged due to heavy downpour, which caused flash floods and torrential water on Saturday evening.
