Pustaka Negeri open as usual on Maulidur Rasul

KUCHING: Sarawak State Library (Pustaka Negeri) will be opened and operate as usual during the Maulidur Rasul public holiday, happening tomorrow.

In a statement yesterday, Pustaka Negeri encouraged the public to make use of its free services such as Pustaka Sarawak Channel and BookBear.

“Pustaka Sarawak Channel is a platform for broadcasting programmes and library activities online on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/user/PustakaSarawak/.

“It aims to encourage the public to continue reading during the Covid-19 pandemic.”

The State library hopes to optimise the use of communication and information technology to benefit the public without being by time, place and the current pandemic situation.

Meanwhile, the public can use the BookBear app to borrow books from Mondays to Saturdays, 9am to 5pm.

Pustaka’s BookBear app is a service that offers delivery of books within the city centre for. With the BookBear apps, Pustaka aims to have books delivered to its stakeholders straight to the homes.

“Users can download it from Google Play Store or Apple App Store.”
