Board of management chairman Ling Siong Ing added the school would also continue to upgrade its hardware and software equipment to provide quality education.
“In the 21st century, teaching has faced a transformation, and digital teaching has gradually replaced traditional methods,” he said at the school’s 90th anniversary dinner here on Sunday.
“With the proposal for the implementation of electronic education programmes, teachers in the new era must use new techniques, active thinking, and electronic equipment to enhance teaching to cultivate critical thinking and communication skills among students.”
Ling said cooperation and creativity were very much needed for quality teaching.
“I hope that the teaching classrooms and auditorium will have advanced electronic equipment so that students can communicate with other students at home and abroad through various educational platforms,” he said.
Ling said the school had, over the years, produced many outstanding talents who had contributed much towards the development of society and the nation as a whole.
He was pleased that many ex-students had not forgotten their alma mater and had made contributions to the school building fund.
One such fine example was guest of honour Tang Kee Hiong, an ex-student whose siblings and family members contributed regularly for the past five decades.
Coupled with this strong support, Ling was confident the school would continue to play a paramount role in providing quality education for generations to come.
The dinner saw former students donating over RM37,000 to the school building fund.
Dudong assembyman Datuk Tiong Thai King and Sibu MP Oscar Ling were also present.
