Ramadan Bazaar unique food culture event: Yap

KUCHING: About 70 packs of kurma were presented to hawkers at the Kota Sentosa Town Square Bazaar Ramadan.

They received the kurma during a special visit from the Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap, Padawan Municipal Council (PMC) chairman Tan Kai and community leaders on Wednesday (Apr 5).

Yap said the visit aimed to promote the bazaar as a unique local food culture event to attract more visitors and customers.

He hoped the promotion of the bazaar would generate more income and boost the local economy of the business community.

“This visit is important to promote the bazaar as a unique local food culture event and tourist attraction. We hope more people will come and visit this bazaar to experience the local delicacies and traditional food prepared for breaking of fast during this holy month,” he said.

Meanwhile, Tan Kai said the promotion will not only boost the local economy but also help to expand their business.

“We are confident that this bazaar will serve as an excellent platform for entrepreneurs to showcase their products and attract customers,” he added.

Later, Yap announced an allocation of RM500,000 under the Rural Transformation Project (RTP) for the improvement of Kota Sentosa Town Square.

“Now, we are still waiting for the approval from the Premier’s Office before we can continue to upgrade the maintenance and service here,” he said.
