KUCHING: Ramces Tawang is the new president of the Padawan Adventure 4×4 Club, succeeding Marcellinus Meran Poes, who did not seek re-election at the club’s annual general meeting held on Sunday.

Sanjan Daik, previously the club’s secretary, is now the deputy president, replacing Alloysius Kuyong, while Noel Samuel as the new treasurer, with Kevin None serving as his assistant.

The meeting saw three new committee members: Pisley Neslin@ Roy, Peter Liefmart Apit, and Halix Kuyong.

Reaffirming their roles, the club is pleased to continue with the Puncak Borneo MP, Datuk Willie Mongin as its patron, with Jimson Jium as advisor.

Auditors Roland Ginjih and Sabastian Sakol, and Marcellinus Meran as the technical advisor, have been re-appointed.

The club has also designated key members for various operational roles, including Robert Kenneth and Wallafasel Jawor for publicity, Keppler Remus for discipline, and a dedicated rescue team led by Andre Ray Sanjan and Melvino Roy Allan.

The commitment to community and member engagement is further exemplified through the appointment of figures in charity (Robin Mundih, Derek Hudson, and Mohd Som), event and finance (Noel Samuel and Halix Kuyong), asset (Nepa Sengus), security (Henry Sokep), food and beverages (Henry Betah).

In his victory speech, Ramces extended his gratitude to the club members for entrusting him with the leadership for the 2024-2025 term. He pledged to keep the club vibrant and engaged by organising more activities and programmes.

He also called on members for their active participation and feedback.

The club is preparing for an exciting year ahead, with plans including upgrades to the Ma’asa Eco-Tourism & Event Centre off-road track, 4×4 competitions, member training, and various fundraising efforts.

Since its inception seven years ago, the club has grown to over 60 members, achieving significant milestones such as the completion of its off-road 4×4 track.
