MIRI: The Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) Miri Branch’s Welfare, Health, and Community Sub-Committee recently visited two economically disadvantaged families in Lambir.

The visit aimed to provide education and health assistance to these families.

The Sub-Committee Chairman Dr. Uma Devi, gave a talk highlighting the “Dangers of Plastics,” the importance of “Cleanliness,” and the necessity of “healthy Food.”

Roslan Ali, representing the Miri City Council (MCC), continued the visit with a briefing by educating the families about the services offered by the council and the procedure for reporting relevant issues.

A notable part of the visit involved distributing stainless-steel food containers to the families, a gesture highlighting the hazards associated with plastic containers.

These containers were donated by anonymous benefactors committed to this cause.

Additionally, the team provided milk, baby diapers, and clothing to the families, further supporting their immediate needs.

The Sub-Committee plans to organise similar visits from time to time, and hopes more volunteers come forward to make the community a better place.
