LONG LAMA: Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau yesterday inspected a roadblock near the Long Lama ferry junction in conjunction with the Covid-19 movement control order.

The roadblock is being manned by personnel from various government agencies in Telang Usan in collaboration with the community headmen and private sector, such as the Sabah-Sarawak Gas Pipeline (SSGP).

“The roadblock is meant to curb the spread of Covid-19, as well as restrict the people’s movement during the MCO period.

“We want to raise people’s awareness on the importance of MCO in order to curb the spread of the virus,” Dennis said.

He advised local communities to cooperate with the authorities in complying with the MCO to ensure that Baram remained a green zone, free from the Covid-19 virus.

During the MCO roadblock, posters and flyers about the dangers of Covid-19 are distributed to road users.

Also present were Telang Usan District Officer Baru Tai, community leader Desmond Yap and head of Telang Usan Youth movement Cr Dominic Nyurang.
