REPOK: Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii has extended special assistance and donations to the victims affected by the landslides at Rumah Jupong and Rumah Augustine here today (April 12).
The incident, which occurred on April 11, affected two rooms at Rumah Jupong due to heavy rain that hit the area on the same day.
In response, the Repok assemblyman delegated his representative, Ling Dien Yong, to distribute aid in the affected area.
Huang noted that the endeavour to restore the damaged longhouses will commence promptly under the oversight of the Sarikei District Council, with funding from the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) to be allocated subsequently.
Currently, the Sarawak Civil Defence Force (APM) is urging residents to exercise greater caution and consider moving to safer locations.
Residents are encouraged to promptly notify the APM or other rescue agencies in the event of additional landslides in the vicinity.
