KUCHING:  Stampin Resettlement Scheme residents have expressed their fear of flash floods in their area due to blocked drains.

They asked SUPP Public Complaints Bureau Chief and Kota Sentosa Branch chairman Wilfred Yap for help.

After looking at the drains, Yap said the poor drainage had caused the water to be stagnant and the flash floods. He said he had brought up the matter to the relevant state authorities and hoped that the issue would be solved soon.

He also hoped that the current Stampin MP, Kota Sentosa state assemblyman and  Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Chong Chieng Jen would assist the Stampin Resettlement Scheme residents to solve the problems of the poor drainage  by highlighting the issue in the federal cabinet and by applying and securing development funds from the federal government to resolve the matter in the long run.
