Rh Gimang, Sarikei latest to undergo EMCO


KUCHING: One area in Sarawak has been placed under enhanced movement control order (EMCO).

The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) on Wednesday (July 21) said Rumah Gimang, Jalan Kwong Minah in Sarikei District began EMCO on July 22, which would end on Aug 7.

SDMC also said EMCO would be extended at Rumah Nugu, Kerubong Selalang and Rumah Tapoi Sungai Setajam, both in Sarikei District.

Meanwhile, EMCO ended in five locations on Wednesday.

The locations are Rumah Joseph Nanga Bangkit, Spaoh and Rumah Munan Nangga Bangkit Ulu, Spaoh; and Pelita Sebungan Palm Oil workers quarters in Sebauh District.

Meanwhile, EMCO at Rumah Ujit, Sungai Rayah Bintangor in Maradong District will end on July 23 (Friday).

Rumah Lidom Nanga Enseluai, Julau will end EMCO on Thursday (July 22).

SDMC added that Song District had turned to yellow status after 13 new cases were reported in the last 14 days.

Sarawak now has 19 red zone districts, three orange, 14 yellow and four green zone districts.
